The Rivian spinout combines DreamRide pedal-by-wire propulsion and modular design in a software-defined e-bike built to be as approachable as an SUV for everyday trips
PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire-糖心Vlog/ -- ALSO (), an electric mobility company on a mission to build the world's best small vehicles for moving people and goods, driven and autonomous, is proud to announce that the TM-B (Transcendent Mobility) e-bike has been named to TIME's Best Inventions of 2026, which features 300 extraordinary innovations changing our lives.
To compile this year's list, TIME solicited nominations from TIME editors and correspondents around the world, and through an online application process, paying special attention to growing fields, such as health care, transportation and AI. TIME then evaluated each contender on a number of key factors, including originality, efficacy, ambition, and impact.
"We use the same car, truck or SUV for a two-mile coffee run and a 200-mile road trip. It has become the default not because a car is required, but because people didn't have many credible alternatives. Through the use of deep hardware and software technology, combined with thoughtful design, the TM-B makes choosing a smaller vehicle feel like a first choice, not a compromise," said Chris Yu, Co-Founder and President of ALSO. "We're proud to see TIME recognize the category of innovation that TM-B represents."
Born out of Rivian, the is ALSO's first small electric vehicle. It's built around DreamRide, the company's pedal-by-wire propulsion system. With no direct mechanical connection between pedaling and the rear wheel, software defines the ride experience instead of a fixed set of gears. That same software can flatten terrain automatically, deliver a curated workout, engage in a joyful morning commute, and more. TM-B's modular Top Frame switches in seconds, without tools, between a solo setup, a cargo configuration, and a bench seat. A five-inch Portal touchscreen handles navigation, ride modes, and connectivity.
TM-B is now shipping to customers. More than 10,000 rides have been completed through ALSO's Test Spin program across the United States. Learn more about TM-B and book a Test Spin at.
